THE Granite City was revealed today as having some of the country’s most polluted streets in a report by an environment pressure group.
Aberdeen’s Union Street, Market Street and Wellington Road were said to have failed to comply with Scottish standards for air quality according to Friends of the Earth Scotland.

FoE’s report showed Union Street and Wellington Road both broke the legal limit (40 microgrammes per cubic metre) for nitrogen dioxide, with an annual averages of 46 and 41.
Wellington Road and Market Street was said to have failed the Scottish standard (maximum threshold of 18) for particulate matter, with annual average readings of 22 and 19.
